Changes to the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan effective July 1, 2019

On June 25, 2019, the RAMQ published the amendments pertaining to the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan effective July 1, 2019. The following are the parameters of the Public Plan that are most often compared with Group Health Insurance plans: 

  • The maximum annual premium increases from $616 to $636, an increase of 3.2%.
  • The monthly deductible drops from $19.90 to $21.75 ($261 for the year).
  • Co-insurance increases from 34.9% to 37%.
  • The maximum monthly contribution increases from $90.58 to $93.08 ($1,117 for the year).
