Changes to the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan

On June 30, 2021, the RAMQ published the amendments pertaining to the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan effective July 1, 2021. The following are the parameters of the Public Plan that are most often compared with Group Health Insurance plans:

  • The maximum annual premium increases from $662 to $710, an increase of 7.25%.
  • The monthly deductible is maintained at $22.25 ($267 for the year).
  • Co-insurance is maintained at 35%.
  • The maximum monthly contribution increases from $95.31 to $96.74 (from$1,144 to $1,161 for the year)

These parameters will apply from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
