Changes to the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan

On June 27, 2023, the RAMQ published the changes made to the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan as of July 1, 2023. Note that no changes had been made since July 1,  2021. Presented below, are the specifications of the public plan that are most often compared with the health insurance coverage of group insurance plans: 

  • The maximum annual premium increases from $710 to $731, which represents an increase of 3%.
  • The monthly deductible increases from $22.25 to $22.90 ($267 to $275 for the year).
  • Co-insurance decreases from 35% to 33%.
  • The maximum monthly contribution increases from $96.74 to $99.65 (from $1,161 to $1,196 for the year).

These specifications will be applicable from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
